HM the King Attends HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Council, as Part of Sovereign's Visit to UAE Coinciding with Commemoration of 100 Years Since Birth of Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan

HM King Mohammed VI attended, on Monday at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan's Council as part of the Sovereign's working and fraternal visit to the brotherly State of the United Arab Emirates, which coincides with the commemoration of the centenary of the birth of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, says a statement by the Royal Office.

The Council of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan was marked by the presence of several personalities, including Their Highnesses the Sheikhs family members, members of the government, notables and prominent figures of Emirati society.

Subsequently, an enlarged meeting was held under the chairmanship of HM the King and his brother Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, in the presence, on the Emirati side, of HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime minister and minister of Interior, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime minister and minister of Presidential Affairs and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and, on the Moroccan side, of Fouad Ali El Himma, HM the king’s advisor, Nasser Bourita, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Mohamed Ait Ouali, Morocco’s ambassador in Abu Dhabi.

Afterwards, HM the King held tête-à-tête talks for about an hour with his brother HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, on practical means and mechanisms to promote the continuation and consolidation of joint action, with a view to enhancing the excellent relations between the two countries to be a model for bilateral, concrete and efficient cooperation.

The two parties also discussed various topical regional and international issues, with particular emphasis on modalities for cooperation to consolidate security and stability. In the same context, consultations were held on the situation in brotherly Libya.

This meeting is part of the bonds of sincere fraternity, permanent loyalty and mutual consideration that have always united the two sister families, and the relations of active solidarity and fruitful cooperation between the two countries.

It is also in line with the ongoing consultations and close coordination between the leaders of the two countries, as a concrete expression of their firm willingness to consolidate these privileged relations in all areas of cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
