International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Rabat and Exhibition "Treasures of Islam in Africa" Draw Over 100K Visitors

Rabat - The number of visitors to the first International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Rabat and the exhibition "Treasures of Islam in Africa: From Timbuktu to Zanzibar" has crossed the threshold of 100,000, said on Friday the National Museums Foundation (FNM).

"Thanks to the guidance of HM King Mohammed VI, aimed at democratizing culture and enriching the cultural landscape, the public was attracted to this first edition, which is an invitation to discover the cultural programming while walking around the sites of Rabat, City of Light, cultural capital of the Kingdom, where the past meets the present," said the Foundation in a statement.

The International Biennial of Rabat will run until December 18 in different places in the capital, namely the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Museum of History and Civilizations, the Museum of Oudayas, the Mohamed V National Theater, the Fort Rottembourg, the Hassan II Park, the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, the CDG Expression Space, the Art Gallery of the Crédit Agricole and the Art Gallery of the Banque Populaire.

The exhibition "Treasures of Islam in Africa: from Timbuktu to Zanzibar" will continue, until January 25, 2020 in three areas, namely the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Bab El Kebir Gallery and Bab Rouah Gallery.
