"We are convinced that the current process of globalization can not continue without a developed, prosperous and self-sufficient Africa," said Amrani at a conference held at the University of Pretoria on ways to boost south-south cooperation and sustainable development through the promotion of higher education and training.

Africa can not strengthen its role in the world without being directly involved in the management of its own issues, said the ambassador who was speaking in front of government officials, diplomats and researchers.

Referring to Morocco's African policy, Amrani explained that this policy is based on three major pillars for the emergence of a strong and united Africa, namely solidarity synergies, innovation and shared growth.

Morocco has always made inter-African cooperation a pivotal point in its foreign policy which is strategically integrated in a vision to meet the challenges of Africa with confidence and optimism, he noted.

Africa needs structured projects with broad social impact and multi-dimensional and balanced growth, said Amrani, recalling the importance given to Africa by the G7 during its recent meeting in France.

In this regard, he stressed that Africa's development begins imperatively with peace and security and goes through dynamic pillars that form the basis of growth and social development, as the promotion of the role of youth, the creation of new models of development, the development of natural resources, the establishment of an inclusive system of governance, an active and efficient South-South cooperation and the acceleration of regional integration.

He emphasized that Morocco remains confident about the potential and the human capital of Africa. The diplomat also underlined the need to put the promotion of higher education and training at the heart of the priorities for sustainable development.
