A total of 20,990,007 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 17,410,792, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 918,126, while recoveries rise to 880,091, i.e. a recovery rate of 95.9%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (810), Casablanca-Settat (725), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (224), the Oriental (135), Marrakech-Safi (90), Fez-Meknes (89), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (62), Souss-Massa (53), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (35), Laayoune-Sakia-El Hamra (29), Draa-Tafilalet (23) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (16).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,876 with 48 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (14), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (10), the Oriental (7), Fez-Meknes (5), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Marrakech-Safi (4), Draa-Tafilalet (3) and Souss-Massa (1).
The number of active cases stands at 24,159 including 1,432 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
