In a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, the Belgian diplomat expressed her esteem for HM King Mohammed VI's wise and Royal instructions for the measures taken to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this occasion, Petit noted that the international and regional situation and changes occuring in the world require the strengthening of partnerships through the consolidation of solidarity between countries, the exchange of expertise, and maintaining dialogue on priority issues relating to climate change, renewable energy, digital transition, diversity and migration, according to a statement from the House of Representatives.
She stressed the importance of cooperation between parliaments, welcoming the action of the House of Representatives and Moroccan parliamentary diplomacy in this regard.
For his part, Talbi Alami praised relations between Rabat and Brussels, noting that during the past legislatures, the Moroccan-Belgian parliamentary friendship group has been an effective model in the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
The House of Representatives is open to constructive initiatives and parliamentary questions of common interest, including decentralization, climate change, renewable energy, technological development, digitalization, and pharmaceutical industries, he stated.
The House seeks to deepen Moroccan-Belgian parliamentary relations and to benefit from mutual experiences on bilateral and multilateral levels through the unification of positions on common parliamentary questions, concluded the statement.
