In a speech on this occasion, the President of the Diplomatic Circle, spouse of Peru's Ambassador of Peru in Rabat, Alessandra Mancini de Chipoco, stressed that this gala is part of the solidarity actions of a socio-economic nature carried out by the Circle in favor of disadvantaged women and children and to support of the projects of Moroccan NGOs working for the empowerment of women.
Through this event, the Diplomatic Circle seeks to collect donations and funds for the renovation of a stem cell transplant room at the children's hospital in Rabat, she added.
"Solidarity is a life choice. It is a lifestyle that allows us to include the other in our perspective. It is an attitude of helping others which manifests itself through the way we approach people by building bridges, sharing, giving opportunities and creating a human chain that allows the most vulnerable people to be visible," Mancini explained.
The Treasurer of the Circle, Olivia Brunie, spouse of the Ambassador of the Order of Malta, said that this was the first social action after the Covid-19 pandemic crisis to fund the refurbishment of a room in the transplant unit at the children's hospital in Rabat.
For her part, the president of the Hope Association to support children with cancer, Lalla Meryem Cherkaoui El Kiss, expressed her gratitude to the Diplomatic Circle for its activities and actions to help children with cancer who come from all regions of the Kingdom to continue their treatment in Rabat.
This event, which adds up to other actions carried out by partners of the association, is a strong sign of solidarity with these children, she noted.
The Diplomatic Circle is a non-profit organization that brings together spouses of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Morocco.
One of its main objectives for the past 30 years has been to share experiences for the benefit of local communities through solidarity actions in favor of vulnerable populations.
