Dakhla - Moroccan kitesurfers Achraf Bentajer and Reda Lefdali joined the final table of the 12th World Kitesurfing Championship, dubbed 'Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Kitesurfing World Cup 2022", after the national qualifications held Tuesday on the Foum Labouir beach in Dakhla.

Out of 14 Moroccan athletes, only two secured their spots in this world championship, placed under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

Achraf Bentajer and Reda Lefdali made the cut after a tough competition with four other athletes: Farah Drahim, Nourdin Mansour, Mohammed Ghali and Amine Mana.

This sporting event is initiated by the Association "Dakhla Lagoon for the development of sport and cultural animation" and the Global Kitesports Association (GKA) under the auspices of the World Sailing Federation (WSF).

No less than 54 athletes from Morocco, France, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil, Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, Cape Verde, South Africa, Germany and Reunion Island are competing in this sporting event, held until October 02.

Italy's Airton Cozzolino (Men's) and Frenchwoman Capucine Delannoy (women's) won the previous edition of the "Prince Moulay El Hassan" World Kitesurfing Championship in 2021.
