A statement by the Royal Office said that, on this occasion, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, offered a ceremonial welcome in honor of HM the King, marked mainly by bilateral talks.
HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan granted the "Zayed" Wissam to HM the King, the highest award at the United Arab Emirates.
This visit is part of continuous coordination and consultations between the two countries' leaderships, notably following the official visit by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Morocco on March 17-18, 2015.
During this meeting, HM the King and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan lauded the deep ties of solid brotherhood between the two leaders and the two sister families. They also reiterated their commitment to continue their action, at the highest level, to reinforce the relations of cooperation and solidarity between the two countries, which go back to over four centuries, and bring them to the level of an exemplary strategic partnership.
Within this framework, the emphasis was laid on the need to reinforce this cooperation in the different economic, development, social, religious, security and military fields, an ambition mirrored in the important delegation accompanying His Majesty the King and which includes notably the ministers of finance, agriculture, energy, industry, trade, and Islamic Affairs, as well as high-ranking military and security officials.
In the same vein, a call was made to explore concrete projects in harmony with programs of structuring development and to continue their elaboration and implementation according to a participatory approach that includes the different actors from the public and private sectors.
HM the King also hailed the ambitious diplomatic initiatives carried out by the State of the UAE regionally and internationally and the achievements it has made and which strengthen its status as an active and influential regional actor.
The two parties also lauded the relations of brotherhood and solidarity between the Kingdom of Morocco and the GCC member states and insisted on the pressing need to promote and broaden their scope of cooperation, in the prospect of building a fruitful partnership in all its strategic dimensions, to bolster bilateral cooperation between Morocco and each of GCC member states.
In order to foster the Moroccan-Emirati relations in the field of trilateral cooperation, it was agreed upon elaborating a new generation of projects to reinforce south-south cooperation in its development and solidarity dimensions, mainly with African countries, and support their development process as a strategic orientation to achieve security, stability and global development of the concerned countries for the good of their brotherly peoples.
Given the threat the phenomena of extremism and terrorism pose against security and stability, the emphasis was also put on the integrated approach to face the extremist ideology leading to terrorism, in its social and development dimensions, its clear religious discourse and its security components.
Based on the historical relations between the two countries, it was agreed to continue coordination between them through the mechanisms of strategic dialogue on the different bilateral, regional and international issues of shared interest and to contribute to solving Arab conflicts through peaceful ways in the respect of countries' national unity and their territorial integrity.
The two parties also underlined the necessity to review the system of joint Arab action, opt for a comprehensive and integrated vision based on seriousness, realism and the spirit of collective responsibility, as well as for a proactive action to settle conflicts in some Arab countries, under an integrated vision encompassing the preservation of security and stability, action to achieve economic integration and the promotion of human development.
In the light of the major challenges facing the Arab region, the two parties noted with satisfaction the shared viewpoints and the spirit of solidarity marking the stances of Morocco and the UAE concerning the crises taking place in some Arab countries as Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Libya, as part of a participatory approach based on dialogue and the involvement of the different segments of their peoples.
On the occasion of this visit, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, offered a luncheon in honor of HM King Mohammed VI and the delegation accompanying the sovereign.
