In addition to developing and adapting 1,339 land plots to be used for 2,678 shantytown families, this first stage, extending over 85 hectares, will consist of building 7,200 housing units, including 3,200 low-cost flats and 4,000 high and medium standard housing units.
It also includes several social facilities notably a school, a health center, a mosque and parks.
"Ennasr" urban pole, worth 14.65 billion DH, will be built in three stages over a total area of 250 hectares. It is scheduled to include 4,600 two-storey plots to rehouse 9,200 shantytown families, 3,200 low-cost housing units, 14,200 medium and high-standing housing units, 459 villas and 35 public and 43 private social facilities.
The ambitious project, brought about by partnership between the public and private sectors, is part of implementation of the Royal instructions -outlined in the speech that the Sovereign delivered on October 11, 2013 at the opening of the first session of the Parliament's 3rd legislative year- to develop Casablanca's urban structure according to a coherent and balanced vision.
This urban project also illustrates the Sovereign's constant care for the poorest and limited-income social categories, by giving them a chance to have access to decent housing and a better living atmosphere.
The creation of Ennasr new urban pole also reflects the Sovereign's efforts to establish mixed and integrated housing areas in par with Casablanca's demographic and urban development, secure progress and prosperity for its inhabitants and entrench the outskirts new calling.
On this occasion, HM the King handed ownership documents to ten recipients of double-family land plots.
Recipient families will obtain technical support throughout all construction phases.
The integrated shantytown family-rehousing program in the Greater Casablanca region has helped rehouse, since it was launched, a total of 52,500 shantytown families. The program schedules to rehouse 35,500 households in 2015 and 18,600 in 2016, in order to give new impetus to the anti-unhealthy housing policy and improve the attractiveness of the Greater Casablanca urban landscape.
