Being the first of its kind in Africa and the Arab World, this new training institution highlights HM the King’s keen interest in improving youth's qualifications and developing their know-how in order to enable them to project into the future, to anticipate it with confidence, and participate actively in the achievement of large-scale projects in the Kingdom.
Designed to host Moroccan youth as well as people from other African countries, Mohammed VI School for Training in Construction and Public Works underlines Morocco's African vocation and the permanent commitment of HM the King to promote a solid, active and solidarity-based South-South cooperation.
The MAD 312.5 million school, which is built on an area of 84 ha (20,000 square meter covered), comes to accompany the considerable growth of the sector of construction and public works in Morocco and reinforce its position as another growth and socio-economic development lever.
This school will offer a diverse range of trainings provided by the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) in concerted manner with the sector's professionals.
With a capacity for 2,000 pedagogical seats, the school offers 21 programs dedicated to construction and public works.
The school will host "Heavy engines and commercial vehicles Academy". This center of Excellence, which will offer training for 150 people, including 30 African nationals, will provide appropriate training programs which meet the needs for heavy and industrial engines maintenance.
This school was built in partnership between departments of Equipment and Transport, Housing, Water and Environment, regional and provincial councils of Settat, OFPPT, National Federation for construction and public works, OCP foundation, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, USAID, French Agency for Development, and Volvo group.
The school benefited also from a MAD 20 million worth equipment grant from the Chinese government.
