"81% of these companies would have reduced it by 50% or more", says the HCP in its survey on the effects of Covid-19 on business activity.
By category of enterprises, the survey shows that 49% of the Very Small Medium Enterprises (VSMEs), active during the reference period of the survey, would have reduced their production because of the current health crisis.
By sector of activity, the HCP notes that 62% of the companies, which are still active in the construction sector, should have reduced their production.
Other sectors would also have been affected by this downturn, including the accommodation and catering sector (60%), the chemical and parachemical industries (52%), transport and storage (57%) and the textile and leather industry (44%), HCP estimates.
