This new figure brings to 39,241 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 27,644 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 70.4%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 611, with 27 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (8 in Marrakech, 5 in Casablanca, 3 in Fez, 2 in Sefrou, Tangier and Errachidia and 1 case in Rabat, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, El Jadida and Kelaa des Sragha), he said.
The cumulative incidence rate is 108 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 10,986. Most of these cases are recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Marrakech-Safi, Fez-Meknes.
On the geographical distribution of new confirmed cases, Mrabet noted that 397 cases were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat (271 in Casablanca, 78 in Settat, 19 in Mohammedia, 15 in Nouaceur, 6 in Berrechid, 5 in El Jadida, 2 in Mediouna and 1 in Benslimane), 312 in Marrakech-Safi (259 in Marrakech, 22 in Al Haouz, 17 in Kelaa, 7 Rhamna, 4 in Essaouira and 2 in Chichaoua and 1 in Youssoufia), 198 in the region of Fez-Meknès (73 in Fez, 53 in Sefrou, 31 in Taza, 26 in Meknès, 7 in Ifrane, 4 in El Hajeb and 2 in Taounate and Boulmane) and 129 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (74 in Tangier, 28 in Tetouan, 19 in Larache, 4 in Ouazzane and 2 Mdi'q Fnide'q and Al Hoceima).
The other regions that have registered new cases are Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (109), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (60), Draâ-Tafilalet (53), the eastern region (27), Souss-Massa (10), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (5), Guelmim-Oued Noun (4) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), he said.
Regarding people in a critical state of health, he reported 163 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 72 intubated people. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (43), Marrakech-Safi (33), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (32), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (16), Fez-Meknès (19), Drâa-Tafilalt (9), Souss-Massa (5), the eastern region (4), Guelmim-Oued Noun (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
