This brings to 77,878 the number of contaminations since the first case was reported in the Kingdom on March 2, and to 59,723 the number of people fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 76.7%, the ministry said in its daily report.
The number of fatalities rose to 1,453, with 26 new deaths in the last 24 hours, i.e. a case-fatality rate of 1.9%, according to the same source.
These deaths are distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (06), Fez-Meknes (06), Darâa-Tafilalet (05), Marrakech-Safi (05), Souss-Massa (01), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (01), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (01) and the Eastern region (01).
The new cases, meanwhile, are distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,169, including 959 in Casablanca), Darâa-Tafilalet (155), Sous-Massa (139), Marrakech-Safi (138), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (132), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (129), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (96), Fez-Meknes (73), the Eastern region (57), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (44), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (15) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (10).
The number of excluded cases amounts to 2,060,286, after 20,617 new negative analyses.
Active cases reached 16,702, with a prevalence of about 46/100,000 inhabitants. As for severe or critical cases, there are 244, including 52 intubated persons.
The cumulative incidence rate stands at 214,5/100,000 inhabitants, compared to a 24-hour incidence rate of 5,9/100,000 inhabitants.
