This brings to 82,197 the number of contaminations since the first case was reported in the Kingdom on March 2, and to 64,194 the number of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 78.1%, the ministry said in its daily report.
The number of deaths rises to 1,524, with 33 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, i.e. a case-fatality rate of 1.9%, according to the same source.
The deaths are distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (10), Marrakech-Safi (07), Fez-Meknes (05), Daraa-Tafilalet (04), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (03), the Eastern region (02), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).
The new cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (895, including 696 in Casablanca), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (344, including 246 in Kenitra), Sous-Massa (336), Marrakech-Safi (220), Daraa-Tafilalet (167), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (111), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (107), Fez-Meknes (97), the Eastern region (70), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (63), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (13) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (7).
The number of excluded cases amounts to 2,102,069, after 21,038 new negative analyses.
Active cases reach 16,479, with a prevalence of about 45.4/100,000 inhabitants. As for severe or critical cases, they amount to 252, 51 of which are under intubation.
