The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 99,816 while the number of cured people increases to 79,008, the ministry said in its daily report, adding that the recovery rate has reached 79.2%.
A total of 40 coronavirus-related deaths were registered during the same period, taking the death toll to 1,795, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.8%.
These fatalities were reported in Casablanca-Settat (13), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (5), Fez-Meknes (4), Souss-Massa (3), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (3), Draa-Tafilalet (3), Marrakech-Safi (2) and the Oriental (2).
The cumulative incidence rate is 275 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said, adding that the number of active cases stands at 19,013.
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,266,365 since the start of the outbreak, including 21,322 over the past day.
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,059), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (312), Souss-Massa (270), Marrakech-Safi (240), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (162), Draa-Tafilalet (160), Fez-Meknes (101), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (96), the Oriental (62), Guelmim-Oued Noun (50), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (22) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (18).
The number of Covid-19 patients in a critical condition has reached 274, according to the same source.
