The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 112,522 while the number of cured people increases to 91,932, the ministry added in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 81.7%.
A total of 42 coronavirus-related deaths were registered during the same period, taking the death toll to 1,998, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.8%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (11), Marrakech-Safi (5), Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5), Draa-Tafilalet (5), the Oriental (4), Souss-Massa (3), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (3), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3) and Fez-Meknes (3).
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,096), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (324), Marrakech-Safi (237), Draa-Tafilalet (171), Souss-Massa (129), the Oriental (119), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (112), Fez-Meknes (93), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (88), Guelmim-Oued Noun (21), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (19) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (14).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,392,629 since the start of the outbreak, including 21,577 over the past day.
The number of active cases stands at 18,592, including 368 patients in a critical or severe condition.
The cumulative incidence rate is 310 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said.
