Organized every year on the occasion of the National Information Day in order to encourage Moroccan media skills and pay tribute to them, this prize covers several categories, namely television (investigation and documentary film), radio, written press, electronic press, press agency, Amazigh journalistic production, Hassani journalistic production, photography, investigative journalism, caricature as well as an honorary prize in tribute to a personality from the media world who has contributed to the evolution of the national media landscape.
According to a press release from the ministry, candidates must be of Moroccan nationality, practicing the profession for at least three years in one of the national media establishments and holders of the press card for the current year.
Candidates must not be members of the organizing committee or the jury, nor must they have won this prize over the last three editions, according to the same source.
Candidates can apply individually or collectively as part of a work team.
The nomination must be for only one work for each prize category, with the exception of the photography prize for which applicants can submit up to ten works maximum. In addition, each media establishment can nominate a journalist or a team working in the establishment.
The competing works must be presented as published or broadcast in one of the national media outlets during the period extending from October 1, 2019 to the end of September 2020. In addition, it is obligatory for electronic media to keep the works published on their websites, until the names of the winners are announced.
