The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 215,294 while the number of cured people increases to 177,925, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 82.6%.
A total of 53 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 3,625, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), l'Oriental (7), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (7), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (7), Fez-Meknes (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), Souss-Massa (3), Marrakech-Safi (1), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1), Guelmim-Oued Noun (1) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).
The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,377), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (584), the Oriental (330), Souss-Massa (253), Marrakech-Safi (180), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (176), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (156), Fez-Meknes (88), Draa-Tafilalet (63), Guelmim-Oued Noun (31) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (18).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,090,029 since the start of the outbreak, including 17,022 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 33,744, including 819 patients in a critical or severe condition, the source added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 593 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said.
