The parliamentary group, chaired by deputy of the Morena Left Party (in power), Maria del Carmen Bautista Peláez, said that she is "following with great interest the development of the situation in the area of El Guerguarat which is now open to international transit".
Concerned about respect for international law, the group welcomed the action of the Moroccan government to end this situation of tension and restore stability in this region, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
The deputies of this group also expressed "their support for the brotherly people of Morocco and for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for having shouldered the responsibility of this region.
Founded in October 2019, the Mexico-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group works for bringing closer the two countries, in particular through the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation.
