According to a statement of the House of Representatives, El Malki stressed the unanimous support for the legitimate and resolute response undertaken by the Royal Armed Forces, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, to defend the legitimacy and establish security and stability in the area of El Guerguarat.
The Speaker of the Lower House also highlighted the high professionalism of the peaceful, bloodless intervention carried out by the Royal Armed Forces, referring to the broad international support for this operation.
"It is time to put an end to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, because it is a relic of the Cold War. Major challenges are facing the region, including terrorism and climate change," he said.
On the Libyan crisis, El Malki explained that Morocco has the confidence of all parties thanks to the credibility of its diplomacy that is led by HM King Mohammed VI and which is based on fostering political dialogue in line with UN efforts to settle the conflict and reach consensual Libyan-Libyan solutions free of foreign interference.
All the stages of the Libyan dialogue that Morocco has hosted, namely Skhirat, Bouznika and Tangier, are taking place in an atmosphere of trust and of common concern for achieving reconciliation and ending the crisis as soon as possible, he concluded.
