3,568,670 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far (first dose), while 232,980 people have received the second dose of the vaccine, the ministry said in its daily update on the situation of the Covid-19.
The new figure brings the total number of infections since the first case reported last March to 483,766, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 469,345, a recovery rate of 97%.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,637, with 14 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.8%.
The fatalities were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (05), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (02), the Oriental (02), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (02), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (2), Marrakech-Safi (01).
New cases of infection have been identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (50), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (20), the Oriental (10), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (09), Marrakech-Safi (07), Souss-Massa (5), Fez-Meknès (05), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (02), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (02), Drâa-Tafilalet (01) and Guelmim Oued Noun (01).
The number of active cases stands at 5,985, including 394 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
