Under the title "Jordan opens a consulate general in the Moroccan city of Laayoune," the daily states that the opening of the Jordanian consular representation in Laayoune comes "at a time when Algeria continues to make false allegations and maintain illusions about the Moroccan Sahara."
"The opening of the consulate general of Jordan exposes the false allegations peddled by Algeria and confirms that the situation in the region is calm and is the most stable in the Sahel-Saharan region," according to "Standard News".
Jordan is the third Arab country to open a consulate in the Moroccan Sahara -- an act reflecting its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom-- after the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, both very influential countries in the Middle East, adds the publication, describing the initiative of these three Arab countries as a strong act of sovereignty under the Vienna Convention of 1963.
Jordan occupies a special place in the Middle East, underlines "Standard News", noting that the opening of a consulate general illustrates Jordan's support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative.
Jordan has always supported the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, adds the daily, recalling that Jordan had taken part in 1975 in the Green March to express the solidarity of its people with Morocco as well as its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
According to the Bulgarian newspaper, the opening, in the cities of Laayoune and Dakhla, of several consulates of various African, Asian and American countries demonstrates the irrefutable reality of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
It also reflects the dynamics of this region that is engaged in a process of inclusive, multisectoral and sustainable development, says "Standard News", stressing that the wise policy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aims to turn the Moroccan Sahara into an economic hub to Africa.
"Despite the absurd allegations of Algerian diplomacy, other countries will certainly open consulates in the Moroccan Sahara," notes the publication. Some countries will open diplomatic representations in the coming weeks, which reflects the credibility of the Kingdom's positions and the clear vision of Morocco, fully convinced of the soundness of its rights, it adds.
The recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara by influential countries must be taken into consideration by the United Nations for the settlement of the Moroccan Sahara issue, a case that can only be solved within the framework of Morocco's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the newspaper concludes.
