"As the largest social network in Morocco and the world, Facebook wanted to partner with Mawazine, the leading festival in Morocco and Africa, which brings together every year in Rabat and Salé the great names of Arab, African and international music as well as the best artists on the Moroccan scene," said Facebook and Maroc-Cultures in a joint statement.

Organized by the Association Maroc-Cultures, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Mawazine - Rhythms of the World is a leading cultural event that promotes the values of the Kingdom and upholds a message of tolerance, openness, respect and dialogue.

Mawazine will start on June 22 and will offer free access to 90% of shows and concerts. It will coincide this year with the launch of Facebook Flex, a free version of Facebook that will allow all Moroccans to stay connected with their loved ones for free.

"The Mawazine Festival is proud to count, among its sponsors, partners as important as Facebook," said the president of Maroc-Cultures, who recalled that the Association does not benefit from any public subsidy for Mawazine. This Festival is organized each year thanks, on the one hand, to the contribution of numerous private, national and international economic operators, within the framework of a commercial relationship and, on the other hand, thanks to its public, numerous, faithful and connoisseur, to whom it is dedicated first and foremost".

For his part, the director of Facebook partnerships, in charge of the MENA region, expressed his satisfaction with this partnership, which coincides with the launch of Facebook Flex in Morocco.

"Supporting Mawazine, a world-class festival, is an extraordinary opportunity for us. It has naturally imposed itself, given all the values we have in common: values of sharing, rapprochement, tolerance, respect and dialogue," said the regional manager of Facebook.
