Moroccan American super star French Montana will hit the stage in Rabat on June 23rd at the Mawazine Festival-Rhythms of the World, the event's organizer 'Maroc Cultures Association' announced on Tuesday.

French Montana will perform on Saturday June 23rd on the OLM-Souissi stage, the source added in a press release.

French Montana, aka Karim Kharbouch, was born in Rabat, went on living in the Bronx at the age of 13 and has developed an incredible talent performing hip-hop, collaborating with figures such as Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Scarface and Ne-Yo.

Released in 2012, his first single, Pop That, was certified platinum in a few weeks, before his album Excuse My French, distributed the following year, propelled him to the forefront of the scene across the Atlantic.

"His latest hit, Famous, which reveals the beauties of Morocco and Chefchaouen, as well as Unforgettable, both from his latest album Jungle Rules, will be on the program of an evening that promises to stay in the annals of the festival!," the source said.

The 17th edition of the Mawazine Festival Rhythms of the World will be held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI from 22 to 30 June.

Established in 2001, the Mawazine Festival Rhythms of the World is the essential rendezvous for music amateurs in Morocco drawing for the past 15 years, over 2 million festivalgoers at each edition.

Held over a period of nine days, Mawazine offers a rich and diversified program where performers from all four corners of the world make of the cities of Rabat and Salé a world stage for music.
