All the would-be illegal immigrants were brought safely to the Port of Ksar Sghir, the source pointed out, adding that an inflatable boat in a dilapidated condition sank right after the rescue operation.

During the night of October 9, 2018, a suspicious vessel was pursued by a Royal Navy Coast Guard. Despite the use of warning shots, the vessel engaged in hostile collision maneuvers, significantly threatening the safety of the Royal Navy control team, which was obliged to fire a shot to immobilize it, the source said.

The arrest of the boat revealed the presence of 58 Moroccan would-be illegal immigrants who were hidden in the boat, including a man who was slightly injured in his right shoulder. The latter was then quickly evacuated to receive the necessary health care, according to the same source.
