During a working session, held Thursday at the headquarters of the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) in Rabat, between its director general, current president of AMAN and chairman of FAAPA Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, and the new secretary general of the UfM, Nasser Kamel, both sides stressed the importance of this Euro-African meeting which will shed light on the causes of immigration and offer the media in the Mediterranean region and Africa the opportunity to understand this phenomenon and its real causes.

On this occasion, UfM secretary general underlined the Union's willingness to co-organize this Euro-African media meeting, the first of its kind with the two professional institutions.

For his part, Hachimi Idrissi called for the opening up of the Mediterranean and African media, and stressed the need to involve journalists from both organizations in a very broad reflection on the issue of immigration and to share with them this Mediterranean vision.

The secretary general of the Union for the Mediterranean also discussed with MAP director general cooperation between the Agency and the UfM, highlighting the support of the Moroccan News Agency for the Union's activities.

"The UfM relies heavily on MAP to monitor the Union's actions" and contribute to its development, he said.
