The meeting was an opportunity to review bilateral relations and define the prospects for their future development in various fields (politics, economy and culture), with a view to strengthening cooperation in the interests of both countries.

The two sides also highlighted a series of areas of cooperation, including energy cooperation, particularly in the field of clean energy, parliamentary cooperation and triangular cooperation between Morocco, Africa and Chile.

"On behalf of the president of the Republic, I want to congratulate the Kingdom of Morocco on the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and especially on his policy in Africa, Morocco's return to the African Union and the agreement in principle given to it with a view to integrating ECOWAS," said the Chilean official.

She also praised the level of bilateral relations between Chile and Morocco, which "will be further deepened through this meeting of political consultations, in all areas where we could identify complementarities, in view of the potentialities of our two countries".

The Chilean side also expressed its willingness to develop cooperation with Morocco in the field of solar and wind energy, in particular between the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (Corfo) and the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen).

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, Boucetta commended the two resolutions adopted by the Chilean Congress. At the beginning of January, the Senate of the Republic of Chile adopted a resolution supporting the Moroccan autonomy initiative, less than a week before the approval of a similar resolution by the Chilean Chamber of Deputies.

On the triangular cooperation between Morocco, Africa and Chile, the Moroccan official noted that the Kingdom, thanks to the enlightened policy of HM King Mohammed VI, has concluded more than 1,500 agreements with African countries in various areas.

Following this meeting, Boucetta and Valdivia signed a cooperation agreement between the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies and the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile.
