In a statement to MAP following his talks with Khalihenna Ould Errachid, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Fuenzalida Figueroa said that Chile will support all initiatives aimed at peace and peaceful settlement of conflicts, within the framework of dialogue and negotiation.

In this regard, Fuenzalida Figueroa, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom on Feb. 7-16, recalled the adoption by the two chambers of the Chilean Parliament of resolutions in support of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, as a mutually-acceptable solution to solve the Sahara conflict.

Regarding his talks with Ould Errachid, the Chilean parliamentarian said they have focused mainly on the recent developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue.

These talks were also an opportunity to discuss the work done by the Chile-Morocco friendship group, in collaboration with the Moroccan Embassy in Santiago, and the prospects of consolidating the Moroccan-Chilean relations in various fields, he added.
