The seventh extraordinary session of the organization, held in response to the serious developments in the situation in Palestine, praised efforts made by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to defend the Holy City and support the resilience of the Palestinian people.

It also welcomed, in its final statement, the efforts made by the Bait Mal Al-Quds Agency, an arm of the Al-Quds Committee.

The summit emphasized that the main mission and raison d'être of the OIC, created in 1969 in Rabat at the proposal of late King Hassan II, is to protect the Palestinian cause and the city of Al-Quds Asharif, and to preserve its historical, legal and spiritual status.

Morocco was represented at this meeting by a delegation led by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mounia Boucetta.
