Sierra Leone Praises Morocco's Role for the Emergence of an Integrated, Developed, Stable & Prosperous Africa

Sierra Leone’s minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alie Kabba, praised, Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco’s vision and role for the emergence of an integrated, developed, stable and prosperous Africa.

In a joint Communiqué issued at the end of his talks with minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, Kabba, who is on a working visit to Morocco on September 18-19 "expressed his deep appreciation to the kingdom of Morocco for its willingness to share its expertise and know-how in technical cooperation."

He also thanked Morocco “for all actions and initiatives of solidarity with the Sierra Leonean people during difficult time.”

For his part, Bourita reiterated his congratulations to Kabba for his appointment at the helm of Sierra Leonean diplomacy and “strongly commended the success of the political alternation in Sierra Leone marked by the organization of free and democratic elections.”

He also “assured Dr Alie Kabba of the availability of the kingdom of Morocco to support the programs and projects initiated by the Government of Sierra Leone in the field of economic and social development.”

During these talks, the two ministers reviewed the state of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed the strong commitment of both countries to work towards further strengthening it in all areas of common interest.

They agreed that the next meeting of the Joint Commission for Morocco-Sierra Leone Cooperation, which will be held at its 3rd session, is likely to achieve this objective, emphasizing the role of the private sector in the promotion of mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

Furthermore, the two ministers underlined the need for increased regional integration as key factor for the development of trade and common prosperity.

In this regard, they called for strengthening Morocco’s institutional links with the West African region.

Kabba’s visit falls within the framework of the consolidation of the excellent ties of friendship, fraternity and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Sierra Leone, characterized by permanent consultations and a density of bilateral visits.
