"Morocco considers the economic and political integration of countries of the Greater Maghreb a strategic choice all the more so because we live in an era of globalization and economic blocs," he said in a statement to the press after this meeting.

He stressed the importance of these groupings to preserve the sovereignty of the decision, expressing the wish to see the historical ties impose their logic and "the leaders interact positively with the demands of our peoples".

He added that this meeting was also an opportunity to highlight the role of coordinating positions on a wide range of issues of common interest at continental, international and regional levels.

El Malki also said that this visit was a good opportunity to promote and strengthen parliamentary dialogue, underlining the similarity of the reform projects launched in Morocco and Tunisia in the political and institutional fields.

Ennaceur said that the talks focused on the greater Maghreb, which is a dream in which we strongly believe.

He added that given their capacity to influence governments, parliaments must support Maghreb cooperation in all economic, social and political areas.
