Finnish Interior Minister to Visit Morocco, Tunisia on March 18-22

Finnish Interior Minister Kai Mykkänen will travel to Morocco and Tunisia on March 18 to 22, a statement from his department said.

During the visit, Mykkänen will meet with several government officials from the two Maghreb countries to discuss issues as migration and means of preventing extremism, the ministry said.

It recalled in this regard that "the Moroccan government has approved the immigration and asylum strategy aimed at a successful integration of migrants into the Moroccan society".

The ministry also praised the important role played by Morocco in elaborating Africa's migration strategy, aimed at a holistic and shared vision.

The role of Morocco and Tunisia as key partners of the EU is important. The democratic development of Morocco and Tunisia can have a stabilizing effect on the whole region, the same source added.
