31st AU Summit Adopts the Establishment of the African Migration Observatory in Morocco

The 31st Summit of the African Union (AU), which ended Monday evening in Nouakchott, adopted the establishment of the African Migration Observatory in Morocco, following the proposal of HM King Mohammed VI in his capacity as AU Leader on the question of migration.

The Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the AU adopted on 11 May 2018 the proposal of HM King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as AU Leader on the question of migration, to establish an African Migration Observatory.

This observatory, whose work will be based on the triptych "understand, anticipate and act", will have the task of collecting information and developing information exchange as well as coordination between African countries.
