The Marrakech Declaration "constitutes a new brick in the edifice that we have been building together for twelve years and which has enabled Euro-African migration to be taken off the list of problems to be resolved and placed in the register of the main themes of our dialogue and cooperation", said minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, in his closing remarks.

"Today, through your strong mobilization, you have once again demonstrated the relevance of the multilateral framework to address such a sensitive issue as migration and development in the Euro-African context," Bourita told the participants in this Conference, which brought together ministers and high-level officials from more than 60 countries.

He also announced that the city of Marrakech will host two major events within seven months, namely the annual meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which will be co-chaired by Morocco and Germany, as well as the conference to adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
