Initialed by Mayor of Bangui, Central African Republic, AMCA chair Emile Gros Raymond Nakombo and AMPCC Vice President Bargayou Mouloud, this memorandum aims to encourage cooperation between the voluntary members of each organization to ensure the spread of strategies, mechanisms and tools building on the achievements of these programs.

This agreement, signed as part of the 8th edition of Africities summit marking the 20th anniversary of its inception, aims to promote partnership exchanges between the organizations of elected officials and their members, in a collective and bilateral way, with the support of initiatives taken by both parties.

In a statement to MAP, Raymond Nakombo welcomed the signing of this important agreement through which the two parties will support the different networks of elected representatives on both sides, the aim being to build a solid foundation for true decentralized and sub-national cooperation.

For his part, Bargayou said that the Summit delivered, and had an important turnout, which shows the interest of African elected officials to further co-operate with their peers throughout the continent. He said the memorandum will allow joint action between the two organizations in the future.

Another memorandum of understanding was signed between the commune of Berreshid and the commune of Ouagadougou.
