Baccalaureate Second Year's Exams Kick off in Morocco

The exams of the second year of the baccalaureate for the June 2018 session started on Tuesday in Moroccan high schools, marked by the generalization of adaptation procedures for special needs students.

Around 440,000 candidates, 48% of whom are girls, sat for the said exams, that is a rise of 9.68% compared to last year (401,032 candidates), according to figures released by the national education ministry.

The number of external students reached 100,534, that is 23% of the overall number of candidates, while the number of public education students stood at 70% of it, versus 7% for private education.

The number of available subjects was brought, after reforming the baccalaureate system, from 14 to 40 with the probability to diversify the offer in this area.

The exams were marked by the generalization of adaptation procedures to include the blind, the deaf, and students with learning disabilities and autism.
