Speaking as part of the monthly session on the general policy at the house of advisors, El Othmani underlined the determination of the cabinet to take measures necessary to defend the citizens' interests, urging distribution professionals and merchants to take initiatives aimed at lowering prices and boosting domestic consumption.

On the boycott campaign, the official said that he is closely following the boycott of some products, adding that, contrary to some allegations, the government has never been against citizens but remains attached to defending the interests of all citizens as well as of national economy.

The Head of the Government stressed the importance of combining efforts to protect the consumer, preserve his purchasing power, improve the sources of income for employees and farmers and defend the general interests of the national economy.

The monitoring of the evolution of most demanded products' prices between 2013 and 2018 showed a relative stabilization with the recording of certain oscillating circumstantial and seasonal changes according to the nature of the product and the demand, while the prices of state-subsidized products did not increase during this period, he noted.
