As soon as it was informed of the road accident that took place Thursday in Spain, in which Abdelghani Belkhou and his wife Sanaa Mohcine, two Moroccan nationals who were living in the Netherlands, were killed, the ministry took all the necessary measures to repatriate their remains to Morocco in coordination with the Moroccan consulate general in Bilbao, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the two Moroccans were accompanied by their children Meriem Belkhou (5-year-old) and Zakaria Belkhou (1-year-old) as well as their relative Oussama Belkhou, aged 23, who emerged unscathed from the accident.

The ministry will transfer the mortal remains of the two Moroccan nationals to the city of Fez, once the legal and administrative procedures are completed in Spain, the source pointed out.

The ministry has also contacted the families of the deceased in Morocco and the Netherlands to provide them with the necessary support and to help them with the procedures related to the children custody.
