During a meeting with director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), Mohamed Methqal, OCHA Assistant Secretary-General Rashid Khalikov, highlighted the efforts made by Morocco under the leadership of HM the King, particularly the setting up of a medical-surgical hospital in Gaza benefiting Palestinian citizens, in addition to humanitarian aids granted to many countries (Guinea Bissau, South Sudan, Madagascar).

In this regard, Khalikov expressed the interest of the UN agency in establishing a partnership with Morocco to allow the sharing of expertise in humanitarian interventions.

Discussions also focused on ways to strengthen collaboration between the Kingdom and OCHA to respond to emergency humanitarian situations and provide solutions, notably with regional organizations in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

In this sense, AMCI and OCHA agreed to organize a seminar in Morocco on humanitarian assistance for African countries and training sessions in the humanitarian field for Moroccan executives.
