The judicial police apprehended the first suspect at the entrance of the city of Zagora aboard a truck carrying 62 packs of drugs of approximately one ton and 691 kg, said the national police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that the investigations made it possible to arrest the two other suspects in the rural commune of "Tinfou", 40 km south of Zagora, where they were supposed to get the drug.

The search operations led to the seizure of the drug, the truck used for transportation, a car and an amount of 550,000 dirhams, suspected of resulting from drug trafficking.

The suspects were remanded in police custody for the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with a view to clarifying the circumstances and the ramifications of this case, noted the same source, adding that this operation is the result of joint efforts by the DGSN and the DGST to combat international drug trafficking networks.
