A total of 24,608,541 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 22,998,743 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 3,705,262 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 1,025,898 while recoveries increase to 961,462, i.e. a recovery rate of 93.7%.
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (4,596), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1,402), Marrakech-Safi (662), Fez-Meknes (414), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (409), Souss-Massa (328), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (187), the Oriental (132), Draa-Tafilalet (80), Guelmim-Oued Noun (78), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (36) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (14).
As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 14,945 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with ten new deaths reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (4), Marrakech-Safi (4), the Oriental (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The number of active cases increased to 49,491, including 386 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
