A total of 24,611,313 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,006,577 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 3,764,532 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 1,034,399 while recoveries increase to 967,095, i.e. a recovery rate of 93.5%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (4,056), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1,626), Marrakech-Safi (985), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (528), Fez-Meknes (406), Souss-Massa (315), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (243), Draa-Tafilalet (104), the Oriental (101), Guelmim-Oued Noun (81), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (35) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (21).
As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 14,954 (fatality rate of 1.4%), with nine new deaths recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (6), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1), Marrakech-Safi (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The number of active cases increased to 52,350, including 412 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
