The first flight was launched from Casablanca's Mohammed V airport to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, with on board members of the Moroccan community living abroad, foreigners residing in Morocco or foreign tourists who were stranded on the national territory, as well as Moroccan students enrolled in foreign universities and citizens who had to travel abroad for treatment, on exceptional authorization.
In this regard, Abdelaziz Rayes, director of soil operations at RAM, said that the air bridge launched by the national company and which will link Morocco to several countries, aims to allow members of the Moroccan community living abroad to return to the country to spend the annual vacation among their families.
All the company's employees are strongly mobilized so that this operation can take place in the best conditions, in coordination with the airport authorities concerned both in Morocco and abroad, he said, recalling the rigorous application of preventive measures to stem the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
For his part, director of the Mohammed V airport, Abdelhak Mazour, said that 25 return flights have so far been scheduled, serving in particular European, North African and African destinations.
The Mohammed V airport has initiated early a series of preventive measures against coronavirus, in line with those recommended by the ministry of Health and the Civil Aviation Organization, including the mandatory wearing of masks and physical distancing, he stressed.
In addition, and in application of the recommendations of the public authorities and international standards, Royal Air Maroc indicated that it has implemented health security measures to guarantee the health and safety of its customers and staff and that its services proceed, in this respect, to the regular disinfection of aircrafts.
