This brings to 32,007 the number of contaminations since the first case was reported in the Kingdom on March 2, and to 22,190 the number of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 69.3%, said coordinator of the national Center for emergency public health operations at the ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The number of fatalities rises to 480, with 19 new deaths reported in 24 hours, (9 in Casablanca, 5 in Tangier, 2 in Fez, 1 in Marrakech, Meknes and Al Haouz), he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 88/100,000 people, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, four out of every 100,000 people have been infected.
He said that 968 new cases have been detected as part of the contact tracing system (72%), having so far reached some 133,707 people, 20,000 of whom are currently under medical supervision.
In terms of geographical distribution, Mrabet said that 432 cases have been recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region (366 in Casablanca, 44 in Settat, 11 in Mohammedia, 4 in Sidi Bennour, 2 in Nouaceur, Benslimane and El Jadida and one case in Berrechid), 354 in Marrakech-Safi (309 in Marrakech, 14 in Youssoufia, 13 in Safi, 8 in Rhamna and Essaouira and 1 in Al Haouz and El Kelâa des Sraghna), 194 in the region of Fez-Meknes (100 in Fez, 48 in Meknes, 33 in Sefrou, 6 in Boulmane, 4 in Taza, 2 in El Hajeb and one in Taounat), 131 in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (81 in Tangier, 26 in Ouazzane, 17 in Fahs Anjara, 6 in Tetouan and one case in Mdiq-Fnideq), 101 in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region (46 in Salé, 25 in Rabat, 10 in Témara, 7 in Sidi-Kacem, 6 in Kénitra and Khémisset and one in Sidi-Slimane).
The other regions that have reported new cases are Draâ-Tafilalet (49), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (40), the Eastern region (22), Souss-Massa (11), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (7), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), he said.
The number of cases excluded after negative laboratory results amounts to 21,131, for a total of 1,395,628.
Regarding active cases, Mrabet noted that 9,337 people are currently under treatment, distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,367), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2,202), Fez-Meknes (2,026), Marrakech-Safi (1. 327), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (781), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (211), Drâa-Tafilalet (152), the Eastern region (127), Souss-Massa (57 cases), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (43 cases) Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, (35), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (9 cases).
With regard to persons in critical condition, he reported 122 cases admitted to the resuscitation and intensive care units, including 40 intubated persons. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (44, including 27 intubated cases), Marrakech-Safi (32), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (20, including 2 intubated persons), Fez-Meknes (12, including 7 intubated cases) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (11, including 4 intubated cases) and Souss-Massa (3).
