This new figure brings to 52,349 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 36,343 that of people who fully recovered, said coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 888 with 30 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, that is a case fatality rate of 1.7%, he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 144.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 15,118, i.e. a rate of 41.6/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,407, for a total of 1,706,521, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new cases, Mrabet noted that 639 cases were detected in the Casablanca-Settat region (531 in Casablanca, 26 in Médiouna, 25 in Berrechid, 22 in Nouaceur, 16 in Settat, 9 in Mohammedia, 8 in El Jadida and one case in Benslimane and Sidi Bennour), 232 in Fez-Meknès (81 in Fez, 39 in Taza, 31 in Sefrou, 30 in Boulemane, 29 in Meknès, 11 in Ifrane, 6 in El Hajeb, 3 in Moulay Yaâcoub and 2 in Taounate), 172 in the Marrakech-Safi region (79 in Marrakech, 27 in Youssoufia, 22 in El Kalâa des Seraghna, 17 in Essaouira, 12 in Chichoua, 11 in Safi and 4 in Rehamna) and 119 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra (80 in Béni-Mellal, 32 in Khouribga, 5 in Khénifra and 2 cases in Azilal).
In addition, 104 cases were identified in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (28 in Salé, 22 in Skhirat-Témara, 20 in Sidi Slimane, 16 in Kénitra and Rabat and 2 in Sidi Kacem), 80 in Souss-Massa, 79 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 74 in Draâ-Tafilalet, 14 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, 11 in the eastern region, 10 in Guelmim-Oued Noun and 3 in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 166 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 31 intubated people.
