This new figure brings to 54,528 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 38,293 that of people who have fully recovered, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 955 with 35 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (12 in Casablanca, 6 in Marrakech, 3 in Tangier, 2 in Fez and Zagora, 1 in Meknes, Taounat, Guercif, Béni Mellal, Khenifra, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Tétouan, Kelaa and Laâyoune), i.e. a case fatality rate of 1,8%, he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 150.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 15,280, that is a rate of 42.1/100,000 inhabitants. 5,802 of these cases are concentrated in Casablanca, while the regions of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra and Guelmim Oued-Noun register the lowest number of active cases with 69 and 39, respectively.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,914, for a total of 1,747,642, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new cases, Mrabet noted that 400 cases were detected in the Casablanca-Settat region (311 in Casablanca, 30 in Settat, 17 in Nouaceur, 12 in Mohammedia, 9 in El Jadida and in Médiouna, 7 in Berrechid, 3 in Sidi Bennour and 2 in Benslimane), 176 in the Marrakech-Safi region (96 in Marrakech, 23 in El Kalâa des Seraghna and in Rehamna, 14 in Chichaoua, 12 in Essaouira and 8 in Youssoufia), 140 in Fez-Meknès (72 in Fez, 37 in Boulemane, 12 in Taza, 10 in Meknès, 4 in El Hajeb, 3 in Sefrou and 2 in Taounate) and 140 in the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra (68 in Azilal, 25 in Béni-Mellal, 20 in Khénifra, 18 in Khouribga and 9 in Fkih Ben Saleh).
One hundred and twenty-two cases were detected in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (49 in Salé, 17 in Skhirat-Témara, 16 in Kénitra, 14 in Sidi Kacem, 12 in Rabat, 11 in Sidi Slimane and 3 in Khémisset), 112 in Draâ-Tafilalet (57 in Errachidia, 21 in Ouarzazate and Zagora, and 13 in Midelt), 84 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (39 in Tangier, 22 in Tétouan, 15 in Mdiq-Fnideq and 8 in Larache), 45 in the eastern region (13 Guercif, 10 in Nador and Oujda, 6 in Berkane, 5 in Figuig and 1 in Touriret), 27 in Souss-Massa (11 in Inezgane Ait Melloul, 8 in Tata, 5 in Agadir Idda Outanane, 2 in Chtouka Ait Baha and 1 in Tiznit), 22 in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (22 in Dakhla), 6 in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (4 in Es-Semara and 2 in Laâyoune), 2 in Guelmim Oued-Noun (2 in Gelmim).
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 171 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 32 intubated people.
