The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 105,346 while the number of cured people increases to 85,883, the ministry added in its daily update, noting that the recovery rate has reached 81.5%.
A total of 34 coronavirus-related deaths were registered during the same period, taking the death toll to 1,889, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.8%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (12), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (7), Marrakech-Safi (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (3), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3), the Oriental (2), Draa-Tafilalet (2) and Fez-Meknes (1).
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,002), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (478), Draa-Tafilalet (165), Souss-Massa (136), Marrakech-Safi (119), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (107), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (74), Fez-Meknes (57), the Oriental (33), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (29), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (16) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (11).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,328,523 since the start of the outbreak, including 21,066 over the past day.
The number of active cases stands at 17,574, including 277 patients in a critical or severe condition.
The cumulative incidence rate is 290 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said.
