The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 186,731 while the number of cured people increases to 154,481, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 82.7%.
A total of 53 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 3,132, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (20), Marrakech-Safi (6), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (6), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (5), the Oriental (5), Fez-Meknes (5), Souss-Massa (3), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2).
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,011), the Oriental (565), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (496), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (248), Marrakech-Safi (245), Souss-Massa (213), Draa-Tafilalet (98), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (95), Fez-Meknes (87), Guelmim-Oued Noun (58), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (29) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (6).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,944,035 since the start of the outbreak, including 19,185 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 29,118, including 652 patients in a critical or severe condition.
The cumulative incidence rate is 514.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said.
