The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 194,461 while the number of cured people increases to 160,372, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 82.5%.
A total of 50 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 3,255, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (9), Fez-Meknes (6), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Marrakech-Safi (4), the Oriental (3), Souss-Massa (3), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Draa-Tafilalet (1) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,128), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (470), the Oriental (448), Souss-Massa (200), Marrakech-Safi (193), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (191), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (150), Draa-Tafilalet (82), Fez-Meknes (77), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (48), Guelmim-Oued Noun (39) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (19).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 2,981,788 since the start of the outbreak, including 18,733 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 30,834, including 699 patients in a critical or severe condition.
The cumulative incidence rate is 535.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the ministry said.
