In a statement, the Interior Ministry said that some individuals have recently resorted to social networks and certain electronic websites to undermine national security institutions, by posting allegations intended to mislead the national public opinion, to damage the image of these institutions, to undervalue their action and to sow doubt on their performance.
While categorically refuting and denouncing these allegations and these irresponsible statements regarding an institution known for its professional competence and its dedication to serving the motherland and citizens, the ministry is astonished by the fact that these false statements, which constitute an explicit defamation and a clear attack on the employees of these institutions and an affront to a regulated body, emanating from individuals whom are supposed to show a minimum of responsibility and honesty, and said that it reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings on this matter.
The action of all the components of the Interior Ministry is governed by constitutional provisions, international charters and legal texts, with the main objective of serving the general interest of citizens, in particular the respect for their rights and freedoms, which undoubtedly represents a proof of the democratic choice adopted by the Kingdom of Morocco and based on the obligation for all to adhere to the principles of the rule of law, whether within the framework of the exercise of rights or respect for duties, underlined the statement.
The judicial institutions of our country are able to guarantee all individual and collective rights and freedoms, alongside the constitutional institutions to which the legislator has entrusted the mission of preserving the rights of citizens, in their relation to the consolidation of principles of justice and equity, instead of persisting in this systematic campaign where the spirit of responsibility and objectivity is lacking and which underestimates the progress and achievements recognized at national and international levels, it concluded.
